Carrier Simplifies Transition from Boilers to High-Temperature Heat Pumps

Carrier has launched the AquaSnap® 61WH, a new water-source heat pump that uses the stability of water to support heating and hot water performance across projects of all sizes. Designed to simplify the replacement of conventional boiler systems, it delivers stable, predictable performance whatever the season. Carrier is part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

Developed for boiler replacement projects, new buildings and industrial applications, the AquaSnap 61WH delivers stable high-temperature heating and hot water up to 78°C.

Using natural R-290 refrigerant, which has an ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP), the PFAS-free system supports long-term decarbonisation objectives and evolving regulatory requirements.

Its modular architecture provides capacities from 50 to 864kW, allowing systems to be matched to today's project requirements while retaining the flexibility to expand in the future. Compact dimensions, front-service access and multidirectional connections simplify installation, particularly where space is limited. Advanced acoustic design, inverter compressors and standard night mode support quieter operation, making the unit well-suited to urban, residential, healthcare and hospitality environments.

Carrier’s Product Manager, Market Direction Products & Systems, Eric Pollet, said: "With AquaSnap® 61WH, Carrier is helping make the transition from conventional boilers to heat pump technology simple and reassuring. Combining water-source technology, hot water production up to 78°C, natural refrigerant R-290 and modular flexibility, the solution is designed to support reliable comfort, easy integration and long-term regulatory alignment."
