Event Cooling Hire - 200kW Chiller and Air Conditioning Hire - UK Tour
The Showdome, an inflatable temporary theatre and events space, required air conditioning to ensure comfortable conditions for the audience, staff and performers during the recent UK national tour of In the Night Garden Live.
What Did We Do?
Carrier Rental Systems were asked to provide advice on the options for cooling the inflatable auditorium and connected spaces. A combination of the structure’s excellent insulation properties and heat from theatrical lighting and visitors made conditions inside uncomfortably warm and stuffy. Our air conditioning experts attended the site and carried out a survey to establish the scale of the problem, and the requirements for cooling and ventilation. After discussions with the client, we then drew up a detailed plan to deliver the comfort conditions required.
How Did We Do It?
We supplied and installed a high performance, high efficiency Carrier Model 220 Heat Pump Chiller and two CRS110 Air Handling Units, to deliver cool fresh air into the Showdome, with cooling focussed on the auditorium seating and stage area. Hot air was extracted at high level and ejected to the atmosphere.

The Results
The solution, involving delivering cool air into the space and extracting warm air at high level, maintained comfortable conditions in the Showdome for the audience, staff and performers, and contributed to the tour’s outstanding success.
